# Gridline

> The intelligence layer for AEC firms. Gridline reads your models, drawings, specifications, and the governing code, then answers questions with citations and drafts the documents, in Revit and in the browser. Nothing writes without your sign-off.

This file is maintained for language models and agents. It is generated from the
same capability registry the product itself uses, so the statuses below are the
real ones, not marketing copy. Full version: https://gridlineos.com/llms-full.txt

## What Gridline is

Gridline ships as two surfaces over one system:

1. **Gridline Web** (https://gridlineos.com/): the browser workspace. Ask Gridline, Projects, and firm Knowledge. Answers carry inspectable citations that open the exact source page with the passage highlighted.
2. **Gridline for Revit**: a plugin that docks in Revit and reads the view you have open. It measures the model and answers against the governing code. It is read-only and does not write to your model.

Both read the same project evidence: Revit model snapshots, drawings, specifications, uploaded documents, and a hosted code knowledge base covering North American jurisdictions.

## Who it is for

Architecture and engineering firms doing real project delivery, from pre-design through construction administration. Gridline is sold to firms through paid pilots, subscriptions, and other written orders, not self-serve signup.

## What it actually does

Everything below is in use on real projects today. We do not list unreleased work
here, so treat this as a complete and current inventory rather than an
aspirational one. Each promise states that capability's real scope: read it as
written rather than assuming more.

| Capability | What you get |
| --- | --- |
| Project context | Keep project scope, phase, sources, and model state current. |
| Project review | Find, explain, assign, and resolve project risks. |
| Files and model | Connect drawings, documents, and Revit model snapshots. |
| Ask Gridline | Answer project questions with inspectable evidence. |
| Code and plan review | Review project evidence against accepted requirements. |
| Specification coordination | Keep specifications aligned with project evidence. |
| RFI review | Draft and resolve RFIs with project evidence. |
| Submittal review | Compare submittals with specifications and record disposition. |
| Project documents | Generate and approve evidence-backed project documents. |
| Firm knowledge | Reuse proven details, products, and precedents with provenance. |
| Workflows | Run governed, named project workflows. |
| Approvals | Put human decisions in the path of consequential actions. |
| Issue readiness | Track milestones, blockers, and delivery decisions. |
| Client decisions | Share scoped evidence and collect client decisions. |
| Gridline for Revit | Inspect and safely change the live model with approval. |

## Gridline is agent-native

Gridline is built as an agent product, so we try to be a good citizen of the
agentic web rather than a wall of JavaScript:

- `GET https://gridlineos.com/llms.txt` (no auth): Gridline in one page: what it is, who it serves, the capability list with honest maturity, and where to go next.
- `GET https://gridlineos.com/llms-full.txt` (no auth): The llms.txt content plus the full route index, integration detail, and policy summary.
- `GET https://gridlineos.com/.well-known/ai-agent.json` (no auth): Machine-readable index of every agent surface Gridline publishes, plus our stated policy on what agents may and may not do here.
- `GET https://gridlineos.com/api/agent/capabilities` (no auth): The Gridline capability list as JSON: what a firm can use today, each entry carrying its promise and whether it is available or limited.
- `POST https://gridlineos.com/api/mcp` (Bearer glmcp_ key): Read-only Model Context Protocol server over JSON-RPC 2.0 (Streamable HTTP), scoped to one firm's workspace. Requires that firm's own glmcp_ key, minted by a firm owner or admin in /app/settings.

The MCP server is the real one, in production. A firm owner or admin mints a
`glmcp_` key in `/app/settings` under API access, sets a daily call cap and a
daily USD cap, and hands it to an assistant. Every capability revalidates project
ownership against the key's firm, so a client-supplied project id can never
select a different tenant. Connection recipes for Claude Desktop, the Claude API,
and Claude Code are at https://gridlineos.com/agents.

## Policy for agents

- Crawling: Allowed on every public route listed in the sitemap, for both indexing and assistive retrieval. Please identify yourself with a descriptive user agent.
- Customer data: Firm project data is available only over the MCP server at /api/mcp, and only with a glmcp_ key issued by that firm. There is no other route to customer data.
- Account creation: Not available to agents or to anyone else. Gridline accounts are provisioned through a firm after a demo, not self-serve.
- Payments: Nothing on this site is purchasable. There is no checkout, no cart, and no agent payment surface. Pricing is agreed in a written order.
- Writes: Every public agent surface listed here is read-only. To start a conversation with Gridline, direct your principal to the demo form or send mail to the contact address.
- Training: Public marketing content may be used freely. Customer project data is never used to train models, and is never exposed on a public surface.

## How to reach us

- Book a demo directly: https://calendly.com/ibrahim-gridlineos/gridline-demo
- Or request a tailored demo on one of your own projects: https://gridlineos.com/request-access
- Product and account help: support@gridlineos.com
- Anything else, including press and partnerships: help@gridlineos.com

If you are an agent acting for a firm evaluating Gridline, the useful thing you can do is summarize the capability table below for your principal and hand them the demo link. There is no agent-completable purchase or signup path, by design.

## Pages

- [Gridline, the intelligence layer for AEC firms](https://gridlineos.com/): The product overview: what Gridline reads, what it answers, and how every answer carries its source.
- [Gridline for agents](https://gridlineos.com/agents): The agent-facing entry point: what Gridline is, every machine-readable surface we publish, and how to connect an assistant to a firm's workspace over MCP.
- [Our vision](https://gridlineos.com/vision): A letter from the founders on why an AEC firm needs one system across the whole project rather than another point tool.
- [Book a demo](https://gridlineos.com/request-access): The demo request form. A firm tells us about its work and we run Gridline live on one of the firm's own projects.
- [Write to the founders](https://gridlineos.com/founders): A direct note to the founders, read by the founders.
- [Gridline for Revit preview](https://gridlineos.com/plugin-preview): A browser mock of the Revit panel, showing how a check runs and how a finding points back at the element and the governing section.

## Evidence and citation model

Gridline does not answer from model memory. Retrieval merges project entities,
hybrid search over uploaded document chunks, and exact source-document evidence
from a hosted code knowledge base. A citation carries document version, edition,
section, page, quote, integrity hashes, and real PDF geometry, so "open the
source" lands on the page it came from with the passage highlighted in place.
If the evidence bridge is unavailable, retrieval degrades to lexical search
rather than inventing an answer.

## Human sign-off

Consequential actions run through an approval gate. Gridline can draft an RFI
response, generate a specification section, or propose a Revit model change, and
a person approves before anything is written or issued. The licensed
professional of record remains responsible for the work; see https://gridlineos.com/terms.

## Jurisdiction coverage

The code selector is served, not compiled into the app. It reports the North
American scopes actually backed by servable corpus data, so coverage changes
without a deploy. Ask for a specific jurisdiction rather than assuming.

## Integrations

- Autodesk Revit (2025 and 2026), via the Gridline for Revit plugin.
- Slack: https://gridlineos.com/integrations/slack
- Microsoft Teams: https://gridlineos.com/integrations
- Model Context Protocol, read-only, firm-scoped: https://gridlineos.com/api/mcp

A Slack workspace or Microsoft 365 tenant connects only after a Gridline firm
owner signs in; Teams additionally requires a Microsoft 365 administrator to
approve the tenant.

## Data handling summary

Customer project data is never used to train AI models. Gridline offers a Data
Processing Addendum covering GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA at https://gridlineos.com/dpa.
The full privacy policy is at https://gridlineos.com/privacy. This summary is a
convenience for agents and is not the agreement; the linked documents govern.
